The Journey To
Living a Rad Life
How I got to where i am now

Teenage Angst
Oh, high school. Sigh. This was the era when my world shrank to sports, relationships, and academics - and to the constant urge to escape a place that suddenly felt too small for me.
I stopped playing outside. I stopped being curious.
The magic I once saw in the trees faded, and the orchard that shaped me began to feel less like a playground and more like a set of bars I was desperate to escape.

Finding My Way Back
It wasn’t until I moved to a small town in Central Texas to attend college, that I started to reconnect with the outdoors again in a way that felt meaningful.
Taylor and I met and spent the next 9 years exploring every state park in Texas and blogging about our camping travels.
Being outdoors started to feel fun again and I wanted to share that excitement and knowledge with others! I started to gather groups of girlfriends for weekend camping trips where we empowered each other to grow our outdoor skills and find joy in the process.

THE BIG MOVE
Taylor and I picked a place on the map neither of us had ever visited, quit our jobs, packed up our lives and moved to Northern Colorado!
It was so beautiful and such a monumental time in our lives. But I was also under the false impression that I would organically meet friends on the trails and find my new bffs.
It was also during this time the biggest wildfires in Colorado history happened not too far from where I lived and a global pandemic forced folks to isolate.
This led to some depressive episodes where I finally realized if i wanted outdoorsy girl friends, I’d need to put in the effort!

Growing Up on a Pecan orchard
Born and raised in the Houston area, my childhood was a blend of suburban adventure and the occasional family camping trip to nearby Texas State Parks.
Growing up in a former pecan orchard meant my days were spent climbing branches, riding my bike down rows of towering trees, and gathering friends to hide out in the cool, coveted shade during long Texas summers.
Those formative years- rooted in play, imagination, and curiosity- shaped the way I move through and connect with the outdoors today.

After talking to many other women online feeling similarly, I decided to host a group hike with the hopes of bringing women together to turn our Instagram friendships to real life friendships!
What started as a self-serving action to find my own friends grew into something so much bigger!
